Alert @barackobama … Someone left this at my job. I hope this gets more support. As bartenders/servers we generally get paid $2.25/hour + tips. Restaurants/bars assume folk will tip us 15-20+% of their check total. All too often we get 10% or less. And not because we did a poor job. Times are tough for everyone. My paychecks are 9.75 times out of 10 for $0 because taxes eat up my hourly pay. In this economy I’m glad I have the job I do, and am thankful for the folk who tip appropriately.
So I finally got a Hooters tank top….lets just say Hooters is not about the real “Hooters” life…the biggest size they had was a small. But since its spandex I was able to squoze (yes squoze) myself into it. But I couldn’t wear a bra. I am convinced all the girls that work there are a B cup wearing miracle bras for that extra push up. Nonetheless I’m keeping the tank top as motivation to lose some weight. :-)
This lady’s check was $22.97. She gave me one of our discount cards that takes $10 off when you spend $25. It would not process because she obviously didn’t spend that much. I suggested she get a small dessert to raise her total. She asked if I could just have the manager manually discount the check. blank stare I thought to myself, “We don’t just give discounts because you want one. You are no Jedi, ma’am.” She apparently didn’t like my lack of effort to reduce her total. I got a 9% tip.
So if this is made law, it would make gay sex, masturbation and purchase of condoms illegal, right? Which means STD’s and pregnancies would skyrocket. Brilliant! Just what we need.
